You can see how many Skill Points you'll need to spend to unlock the next cluster by looking at the main, largest node in the next cluster. Upon successfully spending a certain number of nodes Skill Points in total, the next cluster connected to the acquired Skills in the tree will be unlocked. Once they start to amass a certain amount of Skill Points, they can then spend them to acquire different nodes of Skills. The players start unlocking Skills from the center of each Cluster, depending on their class. The Diablo 4 Skill Tree uses a Node System, where Skills are grouped in Clusters. Nevertheless, each playstyle that each exclusive Upgrade or Ultimate Skill brings can comfortably clear through any content throughout the game, may it be the Main Campaign, or Endgame content. Naturally, there will be certain ways to best optimize the player's use of resources like Skill Points for their character. This essentially functions similarly to sub-classes, in that it will dictate the playstyle that the character's class will be experiencing. There are no sub-classes like in previous Diablo games, but there are Upgrades and Ultimate Skills that have exclusivity, where the player will only be able to choose a single Upgrade for a skill or a single Ultimate Skill for their Build. Skills have multiple Categories that vary according to the selected Class, each of them explained below. And as in previous Diablo games, every class has exclusive Skills. Skills and Skill Trees in Diablo 4 refer to Character Progression by investing Skill Points into Diablo 4 Skill Trees that unlock abilities for your character build.
